क) शेर्पा जातीका गर-गहनाहरु
नेपालको पूर्वी हिमाली क्षेत्रको सोलुखुम्बु लगायत अन्य जिल्लामा बसोबास गर्ने शेर्पा जनजातिको आफ्नै भाषा छ । यिनीहरु बौद्ध धर्म मान्दछन् । “लोसार” यो जातीको महत्वपूर्ण पर्व हो जसलाई यिनीहरुले नयाँ वर्षको रुपमा मनाउँछन् । दुम्जी, फ्याजी, यार्च्याङ शेर्पाहरुको मुख्य चाड मानिन्छ । शेर्पा समुदायमा प्रचलित खाना 'वा' मुख्य खाना मानिन्छ । आलुबाट बनाइएको खाना, र उनीहरुको तोङ्वा रक्सी पनि लोकप्रिय छ । विश्वकै सर्वोच्च शिखर सगरमाथा चढ्न सफल भएका कारणले शेर्पाहरु विश्व मै परिचित हुन पुगेका छन् । यस जातीका महिलाहरुले नयाँवर्ष, विवाह उत्सव तथा विषेश उत्सवहरुमा शीरदेखि कम्मरसम्म बुटिल, मुगाको शैली माला, सुन चाँदीका धुकढुके वाल र औंठी लगाउने गर्दछन् ।
a. Ornaments of Sherpas
The ethnic groups of Sherpas live in Solukhumbu and other districts of Nepal's eastern Himalayan region. They are followers of Buddhism, and they have their own dialect. "Loshar" is the important festival of Sherpas, which they celebrate as new year. Dumji, Phyaji, Yarchyang are the main festivals of Sherpas. A dish called 'Wa' is the main food of Sherpa community that is prepared from a kind of wheat. Food item made of potatoes and the locally brewed liquor called 'Wa' is popular among them. Sherpas are renowned world over for their impeccable mountaineering skill and for successful expedition of many high mountains including the Mt. Everest-world's highest mountain. On Loshar New Year, wedding ceremonies and special occasions, it is common for Sherpas women to wear Butil from head to waist, Coral and gold and silver bead, bangles and finger rings.
ख) लिम्बु जातीका गहनाहरु
लिम्बु जनजाति किरात वंशका मानिन्छ । उनीहरु ताप्लेजुङ्ग, पाँचथर, इलाम, संखुवासभा र धनकुटा जिल्लामा बसोबास गर्दछन् जुन क्षेत्रलाई लिम्बुवान पनि भन्दछन् । यिनीहरुको आफ्नै भाषा र संस्कृति छ । स्वागतमा ठूलो र राम्रो भोजभतेर आयोजित सत्कार गर्ने विशिष्ट परम्परा छ । घर वरपर शत्रुहरुबाट बचाउनका लागि बाँसको लिङ्गो गाड्ने चलन छ । यस जातीका महिलाहरुले सुनको शिरफुले, शिरबन्दी, ढुङ्ग्री, मुन्द्री, नेल, रेजीमाला, कौडी, चन्द्रहार आदि धेरै प्रकारका गरगहना लगाउँछन् ।
b. Ornaments of Limbus
The ethnic group of Limbus belongs to Kirant race. They are settled mainly in the districts of Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Sankhuwashabha and Dhankuta - the whole region is known as Limbuwan. Limbus have their own dialect and culture. They have the special way of showing hospitality for guest by welcoming them on Gundri (straw mat) and Radi (Woolen carpet) in the inner courtyard. Bamboo poles are erected around the house to protect from evil spirit. Limbus women wear Sunkophul (Shyamphu Phung), Shirbandhi, Twagheng Phung), Dhungri/Phule (Nebo Phung), Jumke Bulkanli (Nellem), Rejimala(Yang_lchhi), Naugedi (Phagese Phung), Chandrahar (Lapona Phung) and many other ornaments.
ग) नेवार जातीका गहनाहरु
नेवार जनजातीको मूल थलो काठमाडौं उपत्यका हो तर पनि व्यापारिक आदि विभिन्न कारणले गर्दा प्राय अधिराज्यभर छरिएर रहेका छन् । यिनीहरु विभिन्न उपजातिमा विभाजित भएका छन् जस्तै: ज्यापु, श्रेष्ठ, वज्राचार्य, तुलाधर, ताम्रकार, मानन्धर, शाक्य, मुल्मी आदि । यिनीहरु हिन्दू र बौद्ध दुवै धार्मिक समूहमा बाँधिएका छन् । नेवारहरुको सामाजिक संरचना धेरै अर्थमा जातीय व्यवस्था (Caste System) समान छ । यिनीहरुको मुख्य पर्व इन्द्र जात्रा, बिस्केट जात्रा, घोडे जात्रा, गाई जात्रा आदि पर्दछन् । नेवारी भोज अनेकौं विभिन्न प्रकारका खानाका परिकार राखिन्छ । यस जातिका महिलाहरुमा नापु शिख, लूँ स्वं, तायो, माः शि, शिरबन्दी मा आदि अनेकौं गहनाहरु लगाउने प्रचलन छ ।
c. Ornaments of Newars
Though Newars are mainly the native inhabitant of Kathmandu Valley, they are, however, scattered across the country due to many reason, primarily to trade. They have been divided into many sub-casts such as Jyapu, Shrestha, Bajracharya, Tuladhar, Tamrakar, Manandhar, Shakya, Mulmi; etc. Newars can be categorized into Hindus and Bhudhist religious group. The social system of Newars in many cases is based on caste system. Indra Jatra, Bisket Jatra, Ghonde Jatra and some others are the main festivals of Newars. Wide varieties of dishes are served at Newari feast. Newari women wear Napu Sikha, Lun Swan, Tik Ma, Tayo, Shirbandi Ma and many more ornaments.
घ) थारु जातीका गहनाहरु
थारु नेपालको तराई क्षेत्रमा बसोबास गर्ने जनजातिहरु मध्ये एक हो । यिनीहरु खासगरी डाङ्ग, चितवन, बर्दिया, कैलाली, कञ्चनपुर, मोरङ्ग, झापा आदि जिल्लाहरुमा रहेका छन् । यिनीहरुको पनि आफ्नै बोलिचालीको भाषा छ । थारु जातीको जंगल र खोला नालाहरुसँग घनिष्ट सम्बन्ध छ । यिनीहरु देवी देवता मान्दछन् । थारु महीनाहरु भरिआमा पूजा (गोतया गर्ने), चर्दिया पूजा, करिया पूजा जस्ता कयौं चाडपर्व मनाउँछन् । यस्तै चैत्र वा शुकरा उनीहरुको बुधबार (Bhuiyar) मुख्य चाड मानिन्छ । यिनीहरु खेतीपाती गर्दछन् । होली र माघी यिनीहरुको मुख्य चाड हो भने करिया, चर्चिया, कर्रा, पतरी, वीर सेहुनी र अरु कति कति थारु महिलाहरुले लगाउने विशेष गहनाहरु हुन् ।
d. Ornaments of Tharus
Tharus are one of the many ethic group settled in the Terai region of Nepal. They are mainly concentrated in the district of Dang, Chitawan, Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Morang and Jhapa. They have their own dialect. Tharus have close relationships with forests and rivers. They love fishing. In every Tharu villages, there is a Bhuiya, which they regard as their deity. While Holi and Maghi are main festivals of Tharus, agriculture is their main occupation. Painrak, Mala, Sikar Mala, Shree Kanthak, Mala, Taunk, Srutiya, Hatka, Megiya, Churla, Kara, Patrini, Biri Sehuni and many such other are worn by Tharu women as special ornaments.
प्रस्तुत संस्मरणात्मक हुलाक टिकटमा यिनै चार जातिका महिलाहरुले लगाएका विभिन्न महत्वपूर्ण गहनाहरुको चित्रण गरिएको छ ।
